Our intention
This is what we believe.
At the heart of Love4Life™ is one belief: we are far more powerful than we’ve learned.
We mean personal power. The power to choose who we are and how we meet life’s storms, even when we can’t control what’s happening around us.
In any moment, we can choose four things: what we think, what we say, what we do, and how we feel. We call it the Control4™ framework. Simple enough for a child to understand. Strong enough to change an adult’s life.
Love4Life™ exists so every child, parent, teacher, and team can say and believe: I matter. I have a voice. I have choices. I have personal power.
And then use that power for good. Love for self. Love for others. Love for the world around us.

Patricia Jones
Founder & Creator of Love4Life™
Patricia Jones is an educator, author, and the creator of Love4Life™ and Control4. For more than 25 years, she has taught life skills to over 30,000 young people across Los Angeles, from under-resourced and gang-affected schools to corporate boardrooms. Along the way she trained parents, educators, counselors, coaches, and wellness professionals to teach it too, and saw the same breakthroughs at every age.
Patricia holds the CBEST educator credential, is a Certified Diversity Specialist, and serves as an educational rights holder for youth in foster care. She is a wife and mother, and she teaches every kids' class in Cohort One.
Carissa Hetrick
Co-Founder
Carissa Hetrick teaches the Parent Program and leads the Academy’s growth. She spent 20 years building some of the most trusted household brands in America at two companies, Procter & Gamble and Church & Dwight, rising to Director.
Carissa is an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and a mom of three. She knows the Parent Program from both sides of the room: she teaches it, and she lives it at her own kitchen table.
